Co-Founder, Kids Against Plastic and Energy & Environment Institute Youth Advisory Board
Along with her younger sister Ella, Amy launched an award-winning campaign, now charity, called Kids Against Plastic back in 2016. After studying the UN’s Global Goals, the sisters were motivated to address the global issue of plastic pollution, seeing the devastating impact our misuse of plastic was having on the planet and also the potential plastic legacy set to be inherited by the future generation.
Through Kids Against Plastic, Amy has worked tirelessly to raise awareness of the negative effects of petroleum plastic on the environment, educating young people. She has spoken to MPs in Parliament in the UK, diplomats and young people at the UN Headquarters in Geneva, and even gave a TEDx talk at the age of 14 back in 2018.
The sisters’ Plastic Clever scheme has had over 1100 schools and numerous cafes and businesses sign up since its launch in early 2019, as well as their local council, and the girls have also managed to collect over 95,000 pieces of plastic litter as part of their charity.
