PhD Researcher, Aura CDT (Centre for Doctoral Training)
A PhD researcher studying the impacts of offshore wind related noise on sediment dwelling marine invertebrates. Having a background in Marine Biology and a passion for a zero-carbon future meant that exploring the potential impacts of the energy transition to renewables proved to be of great interest. This research will address the ways that renewable energy can be developed with increased sustainability and awareness for the environment. As part of the Aura Centre for Doctoral Training, it has allowed an innovative and collaborative approach to very current issues in offshore wind, providing a multi-disciplinary environment for research to be carried out in.
The PhD project is an exciting opportunity to explore the potential issues presented by increased noise in the marine environment and how both offshore wind developments and the oceans can thrive simultaneously in the future.
