What support to do you need in your drive to net zero?
Join us at our unmissable launch event as we proudly launch our fourth Waterline Summit, in partnership with the University of Hull and Event Partner, Phillips 66.
The interactive panel event will once again be hosted by renowned television presenter and broadcast journalist Louise Minchin, who will ask hard hitting questions of our national and regional experts about what matters to you in our region’s journey to net zero.
Regardless of the other challenges our region and the UK now face, the drive to net zero must remain at the centre of our agenda, because there are none more critical than the climate crisis.
Our climate change conversation must shift from raising awareness and negotiation to action and implementation.
As we experience further extreme weather conditions, droughts, flooding and record the hottest July in UK history, it is clear, if we don’t act now and at pace, we risk missing our targets.
Speakers will address the lessons learned from the global climate conference COP26 and will look ahead at how the Humber can make its voice heard at this year’s event in Egypt in November.
Mitigation, adaptation, finance and collaboration are now in focus as the key to fuelling action and implementation at pace.
Our panel will discuss the obstacles that stand in the way, such as finance and policy, and pose the question to delegates as to the further support needed across the region, at all levels, to secure a sustainable future.
This year’s launch event panel discussion will include, Professor Dave Petley, Vice-Chancellor, University of Hull ; Mark Goldstone, Head of Regional Policy at the Confederation of British Industry (CBI); Jenny Sutcliffe, Principal Consultant Regulatory Affairs at energy company Phillips 66; Cathy Yitong Li, OneStepGreener Ambassador, COP26; and former Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, Chris Huhne.
Doors open at 8:15am for registration and a networking breakfast sponsored by Hull City Council and Oh Yes! Net Zero. Please join us for a fantastic opportunity to network with fellow delegates and speakers before and after the launch of this year’s Waterline Summit.
