Please read on further for downloads and more information about what happened at the event.

Doors open at 9:30am for networking and refreshments.

Join Arup as we bring together communities and businesses from across the Humber to discuss and address the subject of Resilience.

  • Why and how can small businesses become more resilient to climate change?
  • How do we build organisational resilience?
  • Looking beyond the horizon, how do we increase personal resilience in our future generations?

The Humber Estuary is one of the UK’s most significant industrial clusters. The opportunities for the region in the transition to a low carbon economy are significant, but at the same time, it faces a growing threat from climate change.

The world is dealing with increasingly complex and interconnected challenges that no one sector can solve. We will bring together in round table discussions, engineers, business innovators and policy makers to discuss the barriers and challenges faced by the public, private and charity sectors in the Humber and consider how these can be addressed and overcome.

Our interactive session will open with a panel discussion. Host Catherine Darby-Roberts will be joined by:

  • Ann Cousins, a leader on resilience advisory at Arup will set the scene with examples of why we need to act now.
  • Craig Beech will share the story of Traction Drives and his experience of building resilience as an SME
  • Natasha Barley, CEO of the HEY Children’s University will look beyond the horizon, to how we build personal resilience in our youth.
